Parent supervision is required. We loving say that FUNovation Station is not a stop-and-drop, it’s a stay-and-play. One goal of FUNovation Station is to create relationships. These relationships can only be made with parental presence.
We understand the convenience of strollers. However, we want to protect the magic of imaginative play and that magic requires floor room for play guests. For this reason, strollers are allowed when there are 10 or less play guests. If there are more play guests, strollers will be asked to be placed in the front sitting area on the front porch.
Majority of the sets are aimed at 6 months- 10 years. However, children up through 13 years enjoy the opportunity to engage in the various kinds of play promoted by FUNovation Station. Children of all ages are attracted to the diversity of play and the carefully selected items. Adults, also, find themselves lost in an imaginary world without a care in the world.
Children of all ages need to be supervised by the individual bringing them to the play boutique. Choking is a possibility if children put small items in their mouth.
FUNovation Station’s play experience is the result of years of research from professionals specializing in early childhood development, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school administrators, elementary teachers, middle school teachers, and high school teachers. Parents can rest assure that every single item in the boutique has been strategically placed to promote specific cognitive skills, language skills, fine and gross motor skills. No other play area has assembled such a diverse team of educational professionals.
A second distinguishing factor is that the luxury playsets featured in the FUNovation Station were custom-designed by local educational professionals. The sets were then custom-built by a local craftsman. FUNovation Station’s goal is to promote locally-sourced talent and businesses.
A third distinguishing factor is the relationship FUNovation Station has with the local I.S.D. FUNovation Station offers opportunities for high school students to obtain real-world experience through providing educational and extra-curricular programs to younger students. FUNovation Station is a proud supporter of local I.S.D.
Kids! Colt and Makenzi Nelson, aged 10 and 8 respectively, wanted to pick a name that did not sound “baby-ish” (their term). They both agreed that kids want to have fun and that “FUN” should be in the name. Play encourages children to make creations, innovations, and explorations. Therefore, combining FUN with -ovations seemed only right. FUNovation Station met Colt and Makenzi’s approval.
